On the 23rd at 2 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, observed the site of the '2024 Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill' held at the Nowon Resource Recovery Facility.
The drill is conducted annually in accordance with Article 35 of the Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety, aiming to check the mobilization system, role allocation, and mission performance capabilities among related agencies during various disasters, as well as to strengthen the on-site command system.
This drill involved 272 personnel and 50 pieces of equipment from 15 organizations, including Nowon District Office, Nowon Fire Station, Nowon Public Health Center, Nowon Police Station, the 4th Battalion of the 2188th Unit, Korea Electric Power Corporation Nowon-Dobong Branch, KT Gyeonggi Northern Branch, Daeryun E&S, Hagye Eulji Hospital, Sanggye Paik Hospital, Nuclear Hospital, Korean Red Cross, 119 Special Rescue Team, and Nowon Resource Recovery Facility.
The main disaster type for the drill was a large-scale fire at the resource recovery facility, conducted as an integrated linked drill combining discussions and real-time on-site training. Through this, collaboration and response systems were checked and supplemented to enable rapid response by each agency in the event of a disaster.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, “Disasters can occur anytime and anywhere, so thorough preparation and readiness in advance are the best measures,” adding, “We will establish a swift and flawless response system through prior training.”
