Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) held a certificate awarding ceremony at 11 a.m. on the 23rd in the Trade Consultation Room on the 2nd floor of the main building to mark the beginning of Kim Byeol-a's new term as Chairperson of the Gangwon Cultural Foundation.
Jin-tae Kim, Governor of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (right), is presenting a certificate of appointment to Byeol-ah Kim, who has been reappointed as Chairperson of the Gangwon Cultural Foundation and will begin a new two-year term starting on the 24th, and they are taking a commemorative photo. Chairperson Kim's reappointment was granted by Governor Kim Jin-tae in recognition of her outstanding leadership, organizational stabilization, and contributions to the development of regional culture and arts through cultural and artistic exchanges during her previous term. Her term has been extended for two years (’24.10.24. ~ ’26.10.23.).
Chairperson Kim, a native of Gangneung, graduated from Gangneung Girls' High School and Yonsei University with a degree in Korean Language and Literature. Since her literary debut in 1993 with Silcheon Literature, she has authored numerous works including "Misil," "Nongae," and "September Murder," and has received several prestigious literary awards such as the World Literature Award. She is recognized as the first creator to serve as Chairperson.
During the reception following the certificate awarding ceremony, Chairperson Kim expressed her aspirations, stating, “Entrusted with this important responsibility once again, I will do my best together with the foundation’s staff to listen to the diverse voices of the cultural community and to expand opportunities for the public to enjoy culture and arts, contributing to the development of regional culture and arts.”
Governor Kim added, “During the past term, you led the Cultural Foundation with meticulous policies supporting artists and actively secured sponsorships, enriching Gangwon cultural performances. I hope the foundation will continue to be a strong supporter for artists and organizations without change.”
