There is a prospect that defense industry companies in Daejeon will have the opportunity to enter the US market.

Daejeon Technopark announced on the 23rd that it held a business meeting with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) in the United States to support Daejeon companies' entry into the US market.

At the meeting, Kim Wooyeon, President of Daejeon Technopark, and David Kelley, Deputy Director of FCEDA, discussed ways to cooperate between the two organizations and exchanged a letter of cooperation focusing on discovering and fostering collaborative programs for Daejeon defense industry companies to enter the US market.

The two organizations plan to focus on seeking opportunities for Daejeon defense industry companies to expand partnerships with government agencies, investors, and major corporations in the US, and will cooperate to strengthen strategic networks for future global business expansion.

Daejeon Technopark plans to pursue a memorandum of understanding with FCEDA next year, starting with this business meeting.

David Kelley, Deputy Director of FCEDA, said, "Daejeon's strategic industries such as aerospace, bio, defense, and quantum technology are similar to the main industries of Fairfax County," and added, "As the county is a city open to corporate innovation, I hope to continue creating many opportunities and cooperating with Daejeon City and Daejeon Technopark."

Kim Wooyeon, President of Daejeon Technopark, stated, "Daejeon is home to many robotics, drone, and defense companies with excellent technological capabilities," and continued, "Starting with this exchange of letters, we plan to maintain close communication and cooperation with FCEDA and provide ongoing support so that Daejeon defense industry companies can achieve results not only in the North American market but also in the global market."

Meanwhile, FCEDA is a government public institution of Fairfax County, Virginia, USA, providing a wide range of services and information to support companies entering and expanding their business in the US market. Fairfax County, adjacent to Washington DC, the capital of the United States, is a major economic hub with a political and financial foundation, where about 10,000 IT companies are active.
