Operation of Specialty Product Direct Market and Discount Benefits at Tourist Attractions
On the 23rd, Osan City in Gyeonggi Province held a sister city agreement ceremony with Namwon City in Jeonbuk at the city hall situation room.
About 40 people attended the ceremony, including Lee Gwon-jae, Mayor of Osan, Lee Sang-bok, Chairman of Osan City Council, Choi Kyung-sik, Mayor of Namwon, Kim Young-tae, Chairman of Namwon City Council, heads of private organizations, and officials from both local governments.

Namwon, the hometown of the Chunhyangjeon, is a city rich in cultural heritage. It is famous for various local festivals such as the Chunhyang Cultural Festival and the Yocheon Riverside Cherry Blossom Festival, as well as its food and specialty products.
Lee Gwon-jae, Mayor of Osan, said, "Through this sister city relationship, we will establish a foundation for mutual development through physical and human exchange projects such as promoting each city's specialty products and offering discounts on tourist attractions," adding, "We hope that mutual understanding and consensus will lead to an improvement in residents' quality of life."
Choi Kyung-sik, Mayor of Namwon, responded, "I hope that Osan, an economic city realizing a self-sufficient economy with a population of 500,000, and Namwon, a cultural city rich in tourist resources, will complement each other through their respective strengths and that the beautiful flower of mutual development will bloom fully."
Starting with this sister city agreement, Osan plans to operate direct trading markets for local specialty products between the two local governments and discuss benefits such as discounted admission fees for citizens visiting sister city tourist attractions to promote active human exchanges.
Namwon provides 'Namwon Nuri Citizen' benefits to residents of sister cities. Representative benefits for Namwon Nuri Citizens include ▲reduced admission fees to major tourist sites and public facilities ▲incentives such as souvenirs and accommodation vouchers ▲discounts at Nuri Citizen affiliated stores.
Meanwhile, with this agreement ceremony, Osan has established sister city relationships with eight local governments including Yeongdong County in Chungbuk, Sokcho City in Gangwon, Suncheon City and Jindo County in Jeonnam, Namhae County in Gyeongnam, Andong City in Gyeongbuk, and Jangsu County and Namwon City in Jeonbuk.
