Focus HNS announced on the 23rd that it will expand synergies and actively explore new businesses based on its business relationship with Point Mobile.
Point Mobile is a specialized manufacturer of industrial mobile computers, payment terminals (POS), and tablet PCs. On the 22nd, Focus HNS acquired an 8.75% stake in Point Mobile, incorporating it as an affiliate.
Wihub, the largest shareholder of Focus HNS, is also actively investing in AI and Internet of Things (IoT) sectors by acquiring VD Crux. Yang Jae-seok, chairman and largest shareholder of Wihub, sold 100% of Compose Coffee’s shares to the Philippine food company Jollibee Foods for approximately 470 billion KRW in July. Chairman Yang’s strategy is to maximize synergies among Focus HNS, VD Crux, and Point Mobile and strengthen their position in the AI market.
Focus HNS is a company that provides security solutions such as AI cameras, multi-sensors, recorders (DVR/NVR), and intelligent security servers (UVMS). Based on diverse technologies, it creates safe environments through intelligent security systems and supplies customized solutions to a wide range of industries.
VD Crux offers cloud-based integrated store management solutions and supplies store operation solutions including POS, kiosks, serving robots, and order and delivery management systems. It currently has a network of over 20,000 table orders and about 15,000 franchise stores. When integrated with Wihub’s mobile payment solutions and combined with Point Mobile’s Android devices, it is expected to provide a powerful total solution.
A representative from Focus HNS stated, “This equity acquisition is expected to be an important turning point for Point Mobile to expand beyond manufacturing industrial mobile computers to a future-oriented total business model encompassing the development and supply of mobile POS, order tablets, kiosks, and payment solutions.”
They added, “It will create strong synergies covering retail markets including large department stores and small business owners (F&B), including online.”
Point Mobile and Focus HNS plan to continue leading the market through technological convergence and actively explore new business models in the future.
