Goyang City Rehabilitation Sports Center's 'Skin Scuba Class for Physically Disabled' Receives Great Response

Goyang City Rehabilitation Sports Center's 'Skin Scuba Class for Physically Disabled' Receives Great Response 2024 Skin Scuba Diving Experience Class for People with Physical Disabilities.

The Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) has entrusted Holt Children's Welfare Association to operate the Goyang Rehabilitation Sports Center (Director Kim Byung-soo), which has been successfully concluding the ‘2024 Skin Scuba Class for People with Physical Disabilities’ that started in April.


According to the Goyang Rehabilitation Sports Center on the 23rd, this program is one of the rehabilitation sports projects at the center, designed to promote leisure activities for people with physical disabilities and provide opportunities to experience new leisure sports through a hands-on class for people with physical disabilities.


Even participants who were unfamiliar with the relatively new leisure sport of skin scuba have quickly and easily adapted. The program consists of various and beneficial topics such as theoretical education, skin scuba diving practice, and emergency safety training, resulting in high satisfaction among participants.


Inmo (23, physically disabled), a participant in this skin scuba class, said, “At first, I was scared and fearful, but as I adapted, it became fun. I am grateful to the center for giving me the opportunity to challenge myself.”


Kim Byung-soo, director of the Goyang Rehabilitation Sports Center, stated, “We will continue to do our best to ensure that people with physical disabilities in the area can enjoy various leisure activities. The 2024 Skin Scuba Class for People with Physical Disabilities, which will conclude at the end of October, has received great responses from many students, and we plan to continue the classes next year. We hope for the active interest and participation of people with physical disabilities in the area.”
