'For the People, Safer Together'... International Security Industry Expo Opens in Incheon

The '2024 International Public Safety Industry Expo,' the only public safety industry exhibition in Korea, opened on the 23rd at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.

Co-hosted by the National Police Agency and Incheon City, and organized by the Incheon Tourism Organization and Messe Isang Co., Ltd., this expo runs for four days until the 26th under the theme "For the People, Safer Together!"

The expo serves as a business exhibition to understand the latest trends in future public safety and security industries and to suggest future development directions. With a record scale of 205 companies and 834 booths participating, it is expected to function as a marketing platform for creating business opportunities in related industries.

Participating companies include leading public safety industry firms such as Hyundai Motor Company, KT, KAI, S&T Motiv, and Axon, as well as advanced physical and information security companies like Elminez, Jison, Kocom, MI Casecan, and Insec Security.

Nine specialized exhibition halls are set up, featuring mobility (transportation), robotics, anti-terrorism equipment, crime investigation and forensic equipment, among others. Special zones related to citizens' safe daily lives, such as artificial intelligence (AI), protection of socially vulnerable groups, and drug detection technologies, are also operated.

Additionally, aiming to conclude export contracts worth over 6 billion KRW this year, a one-on-one export consultation meeting is held with police delegations from more than 20 countries including Germany, Singapore, and Japan, alongside domestic companies. To support companies in securing domestic sales channels, equipment evaluations where on-site police officers and local government and public institution officials directly assess product performance, as well as public procurement consultations, are also conducted.

Moreover, about 30 international conferences and meetings will be held, including the '1st Interpol Future Public Safety International Conference' attended by over 80 high-ranking police officers from more than 30 countries, and the 'International CSI Conference,' the world's most prestigious forensic science conference, providing a platform for communication and exchange in the global public safety and security industry.

The expo also offers various events showcasing different aspects of the police, which were very popular last year, such as police physical fitness tests, CSI forensic experience, pre-registration of children's fingerprints, self-defense lectures, and police motorcycle competitions, allowing citizens to participate.

An official from the Incheon Tourism Organization stated, "The International Public Safety Industry Expo has truly grown into Asia's representative exhibition," adding, "We will continue to actively promote the excellence of the K-public safety industry and strive to make this expo a leading event in the global public safety industry."
