Day and Night Light-Reflective Safety Keyrings Attached to Bags Also Delivered
Samcheok City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Park Sang-su) announced on the 23rd that it has provided traffic safety supplies to elementary school students in the area to create a child-safe city.
A child wearing a transparent umbrella recently distributed by Samcheok City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, for children's traffic safety is crossing the street. Samcheok City has been conducting the "Creating a Safe City" project annually, providing traffic safety supplies to children in response to the growing interest in traffic safety for children, such as the recent designation of child protection zones.
This year, 1,050 safety keyrings and 350 transparent and fluorescent umbrellas were produced and delivered to the Samcheok Office of Education. The traffic safety supplies will be distributed to each school and given to the children.
In particular, the safety keyrings are known as items that can be attached to bags to increase children's visibility through light reflection during day and night, significantly reducing the risk of traffic accidents. The transparent and fluorescent umbrellas help secure children's visibility during rainy weather and, with their bright colors and materials, make it easier for drivers to identify children, which Samcheok City expects will help prevent traffic accidents.
A Samcheok City official said, "We produce and provide traffic safety supplies every year to elementary school students, who are at an important stage of forming safe living habits, to raise awareness of traffic safety and prevent traffic accidents."
