"Growing Together with Partners" Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Hold R&D Tech Day

Hyundai Motor Company and Kia held the '2024 R&D Partner Tech Day' on the 23rd to recognize and reward partners who have made significant contributions in the research and development (R&D) field and to strengthen mutual cooperation.


The event, held at Rolling Hills Hotel in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, was attended by Yang Heewon, Head of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia R&D Division (President), Moon Seongjun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Partners Association, Lee Taeksung, Chairman of Korea Automobile Industry Cooperative, and Ahn Junggu, Chairman of the Automotive Industry Parts Promotion Foundation, among other officials.


'R&D Partner Tech Day' is an occasion where Hyundai Motor Company and Kia reward partners who have achieved excellent results in technology development and quality assurance, and seek mutual cooperation through various technology exchanges.

The event consisted of awards for six outstanding partner technologies, presentations of excellent new technology cases, and an exhibition. First, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia selected and awarded outstanding partners with significant R&D contributions in four sectors: electronics, body, chassis, and electrification, and among them, the technology with the greatest contribution was selected as the grand prize winner.


The grand prize was awarded to Yura Corporation in the electronics sector for their development of the SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) Zone Architecture component technology. This technology consists of ▲ a 48V power backbone network and power supply design utilizing power semiconductors ▲ a 48V and 12V small converter system, providing an integrated controller while ensuring stable system operation under the 48V power system, serving as a foundational solution.


From the day of the event until the 31st of this month, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia plan to upload 57 new technology videos online for Hyundai Motor Company, Kia, and partner company employees to view.


President Yang said, "Hyundai Motor Group's achievement of ranking third in global sales was made possible by the passion and efforts of our partners," adding, "We will continue to incorporate the values of coexistence and cooperation into technology development to ensure mutual growth with our partners."
