The Netflix variety show "Black and White Chefs: The Culinary Class War (Black and White Chefs)" recently concluded amid much attention, but an investment fraud case impersonating Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, has emerged.

On the 22nd, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that they have received a complaint against an unidentified suspect, Mr. A, on charges of fraud and are conducting a pre-indictment investigation. Mr. A is accused of falsely advertising a public offering subscription, exploiting the fact that The Born Korea is scheduled to be listed on the KOSPI next month and will begin subscription for general investors from the 28th.

Mr. A allegedly impersonated CEO Baek by copying the company introduction from The Born Korea's official website and encouraged investors to secure profits in advance through pre-listing equity investments, then disappeared after collecting the investment funds. A police official stated, "After receiving the complaint on the 21st, we are currently at the stage of identifying the suspect."

Meanwhile, "Black and White Chefs" is a variety show depicting a culinary class war among 100 chefs, where the highly skilled underdog "Black Spoon" chefs, praised for their exceptional taste, challenge the top star "White Spoon" chefs of South Korea. Upon release, it ranked first in the non-English TV series category in Korea on Netflix and entered the top 10 in countries such as Taiwan and Singapore, garnering significant attention. CEO Baek appeared as a judge alongside Michelin 3-star Chef An Seong-jae, contributing to the show's popularity by showcasing contrasting charms. On the 15th, Netflix announced the confirmation of "Black and White Chefs" Season 2 and stated that production has begun with the goal of releasing it in the second half of next year.
