Kots Technology Signs Contract to Supply CBI HW for Thailand Railway Signaling System

Kots Technology, a company specializing in SBC (Single Board Computer)-based defense industry embedded systems, led by CEO Jiwon Jo, announced on the 22nd that it has signed a contract to supply CBI HW for the Thailand railway signaling system, marking a full-scale expansion into the civilian sector.

This contract, signed with LS ELECTRIC, involves supplying CBI HW for the signaling system on the 177km section connecting Ban Phai and Nong Pok, as well as the northern Den Chai?Ngao section in Thailand. The contract is valued at approximately 1.8 billion KRW, with the supply period scheduled from June 30, 2025, to July 31, 2025.

LS ELECTRIC was selected in October 2022 and May 2024 as the contractor for the railway signaling system construction projects in northern (NC1) and northeastern (NEC1) Thailand, promoted by the State Railway of Thailand. Having consecutively won the modernization projects for Thailand’s railway signaling control system, which were previously led by major European companies, LS ELECTRIC proposed to carry out this Thailand railway system project together with Kots Technology, which successfully completed the previous 'SIL4 certification' task.

The main reason Kots Technology was selected for this contract is understood to be its outstanding embedded system development capabilities. Based on this, Kots Technology has expanded its civilian business sectors such as railways, power electronics, and IoT. Through the 'SIL4 certification' task performed with LS ELECTRIC, the company has supplied products to Bangladesh, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Sinlim Light Rail Transit, earning recognition for its high technical skills and capabilities in developing and supplying high-quality products.
