Samsung Electronics announced on the 22nd that it will showcase various solutions demonstrating everyday innovations in homes and businesses using artificial intelligence (AI) technology at 'Korea Electronics Show (KES 2024),' the largest domestic electronics and IT industry exhibition held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, until the 25th.

At this exhibition, Samsung Electronics will create an 'AI Village' where visitors can experience newly transformed daily life and values across home and business environments by utilizing AI technology.

The AI Village is divided into three main zones. 'AI Home' provides optimized AI experiences for family members in living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and more. 'AI Office' offers technologies that enhance efficiency in work environments, while 'AI Store' presents solutions to make store management smarter.

AI Home, Optimal AI Solutions for Families

A Samsung Electronics model is experiencing the 3D Map View feature that allows intuitive management of home appliances in each space within a smart apartment.

Upon entering AI Home, Samsung Electronics' security solution Samsung Knox immediately stands out. Knox includes Knox Matrix, which integratively protects multiple connected devices, and Samsung Knox Vault, which stores data on a security chip instead of the cloud to safeguard critical information. The Passkey feature, which allows easy authentication without entering passwords through biometric technology, is also introduced.

In the AI Home living room, visitors can see the Calm Onboarding feature, where newly purchased devices automatically connect to SmartThings the moment they are powered on. A function using the Neo QLED 8K TV’s 3D map screen is also showcased, enabling real-time monitoring and control of multiple devices within the home.

In the kitchen, visitors can experience AI functions that manage family schedules and check on their well-being according to daily routines. For example, registering medication schedules in SmartThings sends notifications at set times, and the Bespoke water purifier automatically provides water at the optimal temperature and amount. The wearable device’s motion detection sensor includes a feature that automatically alerts family members if prolonged inactivity or a fall is detected, allowing real-time monitoring of distant family members’ safety.

In the bedroom, sleep data is collected through wearable devices, and based on this data, a sleep mode is activated where devices such as lighting and air purifiers operate automatically according to the user’s sleep patterns. Data for exercise and health management is also provided, and health data from the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring can be linked to smart TVs and monitors for real-time viewing.

AI Office and AI Store, Enhancing Business Efficiency

Samsung Electronics also demonstrates how AI can bring changes not only to daily life but also to business environments. AI Office showcases AI technology that automatically adjusts lighting, air conditioning, and video conferencing systems optimized for work environments. 'Galaxy AI' supports meeting minutes creation and foreign language email translation, and even offers real-time interpretation functions to maximize business work efficiency.

AI Store presents AI solutions specialized for store management. It includes features that automatically set lighting and temperature before store opening and adjust air conditioner temperature based on air quality data inside the store. Through SmartThings Pro, the entire store is monitored, and AI analyzes visitor density to regulate energy consumption. This solution proposes simultaneous cost reduction and sales growth.

Transparent Micro LED, Next-Generation Display Technology

At this exhibition, Samsung Electronics will also showcase transparent Micro LED, which combines modular micro light-emitting diode (LED) technology with transparent display technology.

This display boasts a bezel-less design along with high transmittance and clarity. This next-generation display naturally blends into any space and demonstrates various commercial application possibilities.
