Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation is holding the 'Yeoju Ogok Naru Festival' from the 18th to the 20th at the Sinreuksa Tourist Area. The Gyeonggi Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation (Chairman Lee Soon-yeol) announced on the 21st that the ‘Yeoju Ogoknaru Festival’ successfully concluded on the 20th. The festival was held for three days from the 18th to the 20th at the Sinreuksa Tourist Area, attracting a total of 300,000 visitors with a variety of food, sights, and activities.
Despite severe weather on the first day of the festival, including heavy rain exceeding 75mm, the festival grounds were filled with enthusiastic visitors. On the second and third days, more than 140,000 visitors attended each day. This marked a record-breaking turnout since the establishment of Yeoju City, reaffirming its status as a representative autumn festival.

One of the festival’s highlights, the Ogok Bibimbap experience, saw 3,000 bowls of Ogok Bibimbap made in 16 large cauldrons sold out immediately upon opening, receiving enthusiastic responses from visitors. The ‘Roasted Sweet Potato Guinness,’ featuring Yeoju’s signature specialty sweet potatoes, sold a total of 150,000 units, helping to widely promote Yeoju’s agricultural products.

Tourists flocked to the Gun Goguma Guinness event site at the Yeoju Ogok Naru Festival held from the 18th to the 20th at the Sinreuksa Tourist Area. This year’s Yeoju Ogoknaru Festival gained significant attention through the Korea-China Cultural Exchange event, which featured a large-scale plaza dance performance with about 2,000 Chinese participants. Additionally, over 3,000 foreigners, including more than 1,000 visitors from over 20 countries, attended the festival to experience and enjoy Yeoju’s traditional culture, creating a platform for cultural exchange. This marked the beginning of the Yeoju Ogoknaru Festival’s leap from a regional to a global festival.
Expert Panel Praises as Gyeonggi Province’s Representative Autumn Festival
Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation is holding the 'Yeoju Ogok Naru Festival' from the 18th to the 20th at the Sinreuksa Tourist Area. The expert panel gave a positive evaluation of this year’s festival, stating, “With a more well-organized and solid program than last year, it is worthy of being Gyeonggi Province’s representative autumn festival.” The festival, planned and led by Yeoju’s farmers, citizens, and local community, greatly contributed to revitalizing the local economy based on participation and communication.
Diverse Attractions and Activities… Programs Enjoyed by All Ages
Children are taking commemorative photos with their mobile phones at the 'Yeoju Ogoknaru Festival' held from the 18th to the 20th at the Sinreuksa Tourist Area. The ‘Milky Way Fireworks’ and ‘Water Multimedia Show’ set against the backdrop of the Namhan River were highlights of the festival. Various experiences such as archery, hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) trials, traditional cultural activities, Ogok Book Square, rural tourism experiences, and barbecue experiences were offered, providing special enjoyment to tourists of all ages.
Unique Food Pop-ups Made with Yeoju’s Representative Agricultural Products Popular
Foreign visitors are enjoying themselves, taking photos with their mobile phones while wearing traditional costumes at the 'Yeoju Ogod Festival' held from the 18th to the 20th at the Sinreuksa Tourist Area. As part of the Korea Tourism Organization’s Regional Festival Readiness Project, the festival’s signature food pop-up sold unique menus developed by nutritionist Kim Min-ji using Yeoju’s agricultural products. Dishes such as ‘Gajijapsyeobosae’ and ‘Chamoe Aid’ were exclusive to the Ogoknaru Festival, attracting the attention of tourists.
Lee Soon-yeol, Chairman of the Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation, said, “Despite the bad weather this year, the Yeoju Ogoknaru Festival achieved the greatest success ever with a well-structured program,” adding, “We will welcome visitors with even richer programs at the Yeoju Ceramic Festival scheduled for the first half of next year.”
