As Part of Gwangjin-type Care SOS... Providing Care Before and After Vaccination for Health-Vulnerable Groups Wanting Vaccination
Temporary Home Care, Outing Accompaniment, and Meals Included
Supporting 300 People with Income Below 130% of Median Income Until Budget Runs Out
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is operating a ‘Vaccine Companion Service’ linked to COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
This project aims to address the care gap for vulnerable health groups. As part of the ‘Gwangjin-type PLUS Care SOS Project,’ it is being implemented in line with the vaccination period from October to December. The service supports accompaniment to medical institutions before and after vaccination, continuously monitoring health status to prepare for any side effects.
Additionally, based on the needs of recipients after vaccination, a ‘Care SOS Service’ is provided. Care workers affiliated with partner organizations visit to assist with temporary home care (housework, nursing, etc.), accompaniment for outings, and meal provision.
In particular, strict safety management will be enforced to prevent emergencies during absence.
The target group includes immunocompromised individuals or seniors aged 65 and over with an income below 130% of the median standard. Those with mobility difficulties and at risk of solitary death are prioritized for selection. Applications can be made at the local community service centers in the area of residence, and support will be provided to 300 people until the budget is exhausted.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We have prepared a response plan so that vulnerable groups who receive vaccinations can feel safe and rely on support even if adverse reactions occur,” adding, “We will do our best to minimize care gaps and support a healthy and safe daily life.”
