The pledge fulfillment rate of Lee Eungwoo, mayor of Gyeryong City in South Chungcheong Province, was found to be 51.7%, with a project implementation rate of 81.6%.


The city announced on the 21st that it reported the pledge fulfillment rate and project progress of Mayor Lee during the pledge progress briefing held on the 18th.

Countermeasures and future plans for long-term projects were also discussed.


Mayor Lee's pledges consist of 60 projects in seven categories: Happy Companionship, Eco-Friendly Welfare, Culture and Tourism, Military Culture Development, Premium Education, Local Economy, and Communication Administration.


Of these, the city has completed 31 projects, is normally implementing 27, is partially implementing one, and has put one on hold.


As of September, the pledge fulfillment rate stands at 51.7%, and the project implementation rate at 81.6%.


The city has completed projects such as the establishment of the Gyeryong City ‘Military Experience School’, creation of Military Street, operation of the Municipal Development Communication Committee, operation of the Gyeryong City ‘Youth Community Center’, and fostering of a premium education city.


Additionally, the city is promoting projects such as expanding park, ground golf, and gateball facilities; creating the Sindoan Historical Exploration Trail; establishing a transfer center at Gyeryong Station and developing the station area; creating premium forest paths and ecological forests; and building a playground for companion animals.


Mayor Lee stated, “As we have now passed the halfway point of the 8th popularly elected term, it is an important time to bear fruit not with plans, but with action and results. Since pledges are precious promises made with citizens, I will ensure that the remaining projects in each field are faithfully carried out so that citizens can feel the tangible results.”


In May of this year, the city received the highest grade (SA) for the second consecutive year in the ‘2024 2nd Year Evaluation of Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure by Heads of Local Governments’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters.
