Creative Promotion Using K-pop Challenge, High Praise for Providing Diverse Information to 660,000 Residents
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it received the Grand Prize in the Basic Local Government category at the '2024 Korea SNS Awards' held at the Korea Press Center on October 17.
Including this year's award, Songpa-gu has won the Korea SNS Awards for three consecutive years, including the Grand Prize in the Basic Local Government category in 2023, proving its overwhelming SNS communication capabilities among basic local governments.
The 'Korea SNS Awards' is a competition hosted and organized by the Korea Social Content Promotion Association, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Influencer Industry Association. It selects the final winners through comprehensive evaluations including user votes and expert reviews of SNS utilization capabilities such as blogs, Instagram, and YouTube of public institutions and companies nationwide.
In particular, this award was a valuable achievement as Songpa-gu was the only autonomous district in Seoul to win among a total of 91 public sector applicants. The district received excellent evaluations for communicating with residents through useful cultural and lifestyle information and innovative district promotion such as the K-pop dance challenge, satisfying the diverse interests of its 660,000 residents.
Currently, the district provides district news and various content through operating seven official SNS channels including blog, YouTube, Instagram, and KakaoTalk.
Notably, the Songpa-gu blog maintains close communication with residents, recording 49,000 blog neighbors, the highest among Seoul’s autonomous districts, and a cumulative visitor count of 18 million. Also, through the KakaoTalk channel, Songpa-gu provides real-time news on high-quality cultural and artistic events held year-round, policy sites, and lifestyle information, enriching and diversifying SNS communication.
Additionally, the YouTube channel, filmed, edited, and hosted directly by public officials, delivers the unique charm of Songpa-gu more vividly through trendy video content, receiving positive responses.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “Songpa-gu SNS strives to promote various news and charms of Songpa, a premium city ideal for living, in line with the latest trends,” and added, “We will continue to communicate closely with residents through SNS and consistently provide useful information by season and theme.”
Meanwhile, Songpa-gu has previously won the Grand Prize in the Basic Local Government category at the same awards ceremony in 2023, the Blog Grand Prize in the Basic Local Government category at the ‘SNS Awards of the Year’ in 2022, and the Excellence Award in the SNS category at the ‘Korea Communication Awards.’
