On the 18th, HYNN appeared on KBS CoolFM radio's 'Lee Eun-ji's Gayo Plaza' and spoke about Han Kang's Nobel Prize win and her own stage name. HYNN previously disclosed that she was deeply moved and inspired by Han Kang's novel Huin and chose her stage name accordingly.
HYNN explained, "Before my debut, I was worried about my stage name. At that time, the CEO of my agency recommended Han Kang's novel Huin, and I read a line that said, 'Even if I get dirty, I will only offer white things.' I thought, 'I want to become a singer like this, one who only offers pure music and messages.' So I took the name Huin."
HYNN is currently promoting her new song "Oneul Noeuri Yeppeoseo" ("Because Today's Sunset Is Beautiful"), released on the 13th. She described the song as "a track that recalls the fresh love and my beautiful forgotten self, moments that were so happy even though the unpleasant you is now in the past." She added, "Since the title includes 'sunset,' it's good to listen to it while waiting for the sunset or watching it. Running has become popular these days, so it’s also nice to listen to it quietly while exercising." HYNN's representative song includes "Sidoen Kkoche Mureul Judeut" ("Like Watering a Withered Flower").
Han Kang achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the first Korean to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Earlier, in 2016, Han Kang gained global recognition by winning the prestigious Booker Prize for her novel The Vegetarian. Han Kang's novel Huin was published in 2016 and is praised as a unique work blending elements of essays, poetry, and short stories, unlike traditional novels. Following the announcement of Han Kang's Nobel Prize win, online bookstore Aladin reported that sales of the novel Huin surged 2,072 times compared to the previous day. Additionally, sales of We Do Not Part increased 1,719 times, and The Vegetarian and Human Acts rose 901 times and 521 times, respectively.
