American Influencer Spots Bird Barking from 136m High Pyramid Summit During Paragliding Flight
A dog wandering on top of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World," has become a hot topic.
On the 18th (local time), foreign media including CNN introduced the story behind the footage taken by Marshall Mosher, a famous American travel influencer, who was flying a powered paraglider. On the 15th, Mosher posted a video on his social media saying, "A dog climbed up the pyramid." At that time,
he was flying over the Great Pyramid complex in Giza, Egypt, with other paragliders around sunrise when he spotted a dog near the top of the second tallest pyramid, the Khafre Pyramid.

The height of this pyramid reaches 136 meters. The Great Pyramid of Giza is estimated to have been built around 2560 BC and is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World." Mosher said the dog was barking at birds flying overhead. He told CNN, "I saw something moving back and forth at the top of the pyramid," and "One of the group thought it was a puma."

Mosher was somewhat worried, thinking the dog might be trapped there. But he soon changed his mind, thinking, "If it climbed up the pyramid by itself, it should be able to come down by itself." The next day, curious if the dog was still on the pyramid, he flew back there but could not find the dog. Fortunately, a fellow paraglider captured a video of the dog safely descending the pyramid. However, Mosher explained that since hundreds of stray dogs roam the pyramid complex, it is unclear if it was the same dog. Still, he joked, "I understand why the dog wanted to climb up there. In my opinion, it’s the best view for a Cairo street dog."
The dog's video quickly spread on social media, garnering millions of views overnight. Netizens who saw the footage reacted that the dog who climbed such a high place was truly a wonder. Some even found a connection between this dog and Anubis, the ancient Egyptian god of death, who is often depicted as a person with a jackal head.
