Earlier, Chairman Ryu was suspected of filing a complaint with the KCSC requesting a review related to the broadcast of News Tapa's report quoting the transcript of the 'Kim Man-bae - Shin Hak-rim interview' through family and acquaintances.

In response, Chairman Ryu requested an investigation on suspicion of violating the Personal Information Protection Act, claiming that the personal information of the complainants was leaked by an office staff member.

The group asserted, "The names and phone numbers provided for identity verification at the time of filing the complaint with the KCSC became targets of retaliatory coverage by some media outlets."

They added, "Moreover, we cannot help but be shocked that recently six complainants were included as witnesses by the Democratic Party members of the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Communications Committee during a hearing. It is clearly illegal to disclose the identities of citizens who filed public interest complaints by forcing them to appear at an official hearing when their identities should have been protected."

They further stated, "We urge the police once again," and "We strongly request that you thoroughly investigate not only the personal information leak but also the process by which information about family relations was obtained and leaked to certain media outlets."
