'Youth Obsession' Billionaire Undergoes Plasma Exchange Therapy: "My Plasma Is Gold"

Treatment to Remove Harmful Substances from Plasma
Spending 2.7 Billion Won Annually for Rejuvenation... Also Transfusing Son's Blood

Brian Johnson (47), an American billionaire known for engaging in various eccentric acts to maintain his youth, has recently attracted attention by undergoing a plasma exchange therapy that removes harmful substances from the plasma (the liquid component of blood) and reinfuses it back into the body.

According to the American daily New York Post and others, Johnson revealed on social media on the 14th (local time) that he had undergone plasma exchange therapy.

Plasma exchange therapy is a treatment method that uses a blood component collector to separate plasma from the blood, selectively remove pathological substances harmful to humans, and then reinfuse it back into the patient's blood.

This procedure is mainly used to treat immune system problems, autoimmune diseases, and to remove toxins from the body. However, Johnson underwent this procedure with the intention of preventing aging by removing toxins from his body.

Johnson claimed that the practitioner who performed the plasma exchange praised his plasma, saying, "It is the cleanest I have ever seen," and after the procedure, said, "It’s a waste to discard this plasma." He also complimented himself by saying, "My plasma is liquid gold."

Johnson stated that he plans to undergo plasma exchange therapy once more in the future, and then auction or donate the plasma obtained afterward.

Johnson became a billionaire in his 30s by selling his software company, Braintree, to eBay for $800 million (approximately 985 billion KRW).

He is known to spend $2 million (about 2.7 billion KRW) annually on his “rejuvenation project” aimed at anti-aging. This includes advanced medical technology, strict dietary regimens, stress management, and consistent exercise.

Last year, he conducted a blood exchange experiment across three generations with his 17-year-old son and 70-year-old father. Each of them had 1 liter of blood drawn from their bodies, and the plasma separated from the son's blood was transfused into Johnson, while the plasma from Johnson's blood was transfused into his father. However, the experiment was discontinued due to a lack of noticeable effects.

In a past interview with the media, Johnson revealed the reason for his obsession with youth, saying, “Before selling Braintree, I suffered from severe mental and physical stress and even had suicidal impulses.”
