Yangsan City to Host 'Gongdong Changjakso Children's Song Festival' on the 26th

Recruitment of Participants for Kindergarten and Elementary Students in Yangsan Area

The Yangsan City Cultural Artists' Joint Creation Center in Gyeongnam is scheduled to hold the 'Joint Creation Center Children's Song Festival,' a citizen participation planning program as part of the cultural and arts festival (2024 pilot project performance comprehensive presentation), on the 26th at the Jokgu Court in Hwangsan Culture and Sports Park.

The purpose of this children's song festival is to discover musical talents in the Yangsan area early. Notably, children who pass the in-person judging of the festival will collaborate spontaneously on the day to perform a designated song as a choir on the main stage of the festival.

After showcasing their individual skills, the process of harmonizing together emphasizes the importance of cooperation through communication and unity. The Joint Creation Center planned this to support children's dreams and passion by providing stage art experiences.

Participants will sing one free-choice song and one designated song, which will be judged by professional judges to determine the winners. Five winners will receive the Gyeongnam Yangsan Office of Education Superintendent's Award, and other children will be awarded the Joint Creation Center Dream Tree Award.

A representative of the Joint Creation Center stated, “Education and experience from early childhood are very important for the development of local culture and arts because the artistic experiences and appreciation skills formed during this period mostly continue into adulthood.” They added, “In particular, children's songs are a very effective means of fostering healthy emotional development, artistic sensibility, and understanding during childhood.”

Preschoolers or elementary school students wishing to participate in this children's song festival should submit the application form and other documents (including videos) to the Joint Creation Center's email by 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 20.

The application form and documents can be found in the Yangsan City Hall public notices. Those who pass the document screening must submit the free-choice song sheet music, MR (free-choice song accompaniment), and a performance safety education certificate (children performer course) via email.
