Mayor Bang Se-hwan of Gwangju City (left) is taking a commemorative photo after receiving a donation of 2 million won from Ham Du-ho, the city representative. Companies located in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi Province visited the Gwangju City Hall to donate cash and goods to neighbors in need of assistance.
According to Gwangju City on the 18th, on the 17th, Sejun Food Agricultural Corporation Co., Ltd. delivered 11,520 Haneulcheong apples and maesil (plums) worth approximately 11 million KRW to Gwangju City.
Moon Wanki, CEO of Sejun Food, stated, “As a traditional beverage manufacturer, we have been steadily practicing sharing with the local community for several years,” and added, “We will continue to carry out sharing projects together with the local community in the future.”
Also on the same day, Ham Duho, CEO of Doshi Co., Ltd., donated 2 million KRW in cash to Gwangju City.
CEO Ham said, “With the beginning of the cold winter approaching, I donated the money hoping that our neighbors who will have a difficult time can spend it a little warmer,” and expressed, “I will continue to engage in various contribution activities for our region.”
Mayor Bang Se-hwan said, “Thank you for donating cash and goods despite the difficult economic conditions,” and added, “The cash and goods will be carefully delivered to places in need of help.”
Meanwhile, the donated funds will be given as scholarships to 20 children from vulnerable groups during the 9th Gwangju City Regional Children's Center Day event, and the Haneulcheong apples and maesil will be distributed to 26 local children's centers in the area.
