Completed Military Service at 36th Infantry Division the Day Before
"Received Much Help from Officers and Soldiers"
Group BTS member J-Hope has announced his return to activities after completing his military service.
J-Hope completed his 18-month military service on the 17th at the Army's 36th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon Province. On the same day, around 12:30 PM, he held a live broadcast on the fan communication platform 'Weverse,' expressing his heartfelt emotions by saying, "I really can't believe this moment has come."
He continued, "J-Hope is back. I have been discharged. One and a half years is indeed a long time, but I fulfilled my duty as a young man of the Republic of Korea to serve the country," adding, "Thanks to the support and encouragement from fans, I was able to complete it healthily. Not a 'Gomsin' but a 'Kkotshin,' I will make sure to walk a flower path from now on."

He revealed the support letters he received from fans during his military service, saying, "It was tough, but meaningful. I read many handwritten letters you wrote while in the military," and expressed gratitude, "I was thankful to feel that many people support BTS."
Meanwhile, he also proudly showed the 'rolling paper' written by his comrades. In the actual photos released, handwritten messages densely cover the inside lining of his combat uniform. The rolling paper included messages of support and encouragement such as "Hyung, you worked really hard," "It was an honor every moment," and "I’m so glad we were together until now."
J-Hope said, "I tend to be influenced a lot by my surroundings. While the fans' support was a great strength, I received a lot of help directly from the officers and soldiers I worked closely with," adding, "Since there were only about 100 people, I lived my military life in a family-like atmosphere."
Regarding his future plans, he said, "Now it’s J-Hope’s life Take 3," and emphasized, "I will take care of myself and work out hard to show you a great side. I have somewhat decided on what activities to pursue. I will show you J-Hope of BTS, not Sergeant Jung Hoseok."
Meanwhile, BTS members enlisted in order starting with Jin, followed by J-Hope, Suga, RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook. With J-Hope’s discharge, two members have completed their military service. It is expected that BTS will return as a 'complete group' sometime after June 2025.
