Gachon University hosted the 'Gachon University Competitiveness Workshop' on the 18th at the university convention center, inviting campus members and related institution officials to share the university's vision and development goals and propose innovation plans for the university.
The event was attended by over 200 people, including Gachon University President Lee Gil-yeo, Gachon Foundation Chairman Song Seok-hyung, Gachon University Senior Vice President Choi Mi-ri, faculty members, Song Seong-geun, president of the Gachon University Alumni Association, Ahn Kwang-rim, vice chairman of the Seongnam City Council, officials from the Gachon University Alumni Association, members of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly and Seongnam City Council, and Gachon University professors.
Yoon Won-jung, Vice President of Gachon University, shared the university's vision and development goals, the achievements made so far to reach these goals, and future plans. He presented the '2027 Top10 Jump Strategy' to secure Gachon University's competitiveness, which includes ▲ securing university finances ▲ recruiting excellent faculty ▲ improving research performance ▲ establishing a virtuous cycle structure for government project selection.
He also explained the 'BBC Specialization Promotion Achievements' and 'Future Vision of Gachon University' that the university has accomplished since 2020, including the establishment of 10 advanced departments, increased student enrollment in Biologics (innovative new drug field), Battery (secondary battery field), and Chips (semiconductor field), securing outstanding faculty, and selection for government projects, requesting support and encouragement.
In his commemorative speech, President Lee Gil-yeo stated, "Gachon University succeeded in structural reform through the integration of four universities and took the lead in introducing software-centered education, laying the foundation for the upcoming AI era." He added, "I will continue to make every effort with a heart that loves students to help Gachon University leap forward as one of the top 10 prestigious private universities."
