On the 18th, Mayor Nadongyeon visited the Government Seoul Complex and met with Kim Minjae, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, to explain two local issues and three financial support requests, urging active interest and support.
The local issues proposed to Vice Minister Kim Minjae that day included ▲the installation project of the Nam Mulgeum Hi-Pass IC and ▲the increase of the standard labor cost in Yangsan City, while the financial support requests included ▲three projects such as the expansion of the Ungsang Health Center, totaling five requests.
The Nam Mulgeum Hi-Pass IC installation project is a new IC construction project aimed at resolving congestion on the main highway near the existing Mulgeum IC and facilitating smooth transportation of industrial logistics at Yangsan ICD. Due to concerns about project delays caused by increased local government financial burdens, the city requested the inclusion of project costs by applying for the “Support Project for Areas Surrounding US Military Bases in Korea” to secure national funding smoothly.
Regarding the increase in the standard labor cost, the city emphasized the inevitability of increasing essential personnel due to the upgrade of the Ungsang Health Branch to a health center starting next year and the increased administrative demand caused by accelerated population inflow, explaining the necessity of raising the standard labor cost.
Additionally, the city actively requested financial support for urgent projects such as the expansion of the Ungsang Health Center following the upgrade of the Ungsang Health Branch.
Mayor Nadongyeon stated, “I deeply appreciate Vice Minister Kim for listening and empathizing with the local issues, and I will continue close communication with central government ministries to enhance understanding of local issues.” He added, “The issues proposed this time are urgent projects for regional development and alleviating citizen inconveniences, requiring active government interest. We will do our best to receive government support for the prompt resolution of these issues.”
