Utilization of 605 Spaces Including Resident Priority Parking Lots
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province has introduced a system that shares resident-priority parking lots to alleviate parking difficulties.
Hwaseong City announced on the 18th that it recently completed the construction of a 'Parking Sharing Platform' and began its operation. This platform allows users to freely use vacant parking spaces in resident parking lots through the 'Modu's Parking' app at desired times.
Information on how to use the shared parking lots, fees, and more can be checked through the 'Hwaseong City Integrated Parking Portal.' The app also provides details such as the location, usage hours, and number of parking spaces of shared parking lots opened by private entities.
The operation is promoted through a work-sharing agreement among Hwaseong City, Hwaseong City Urban Corporation, and Modu Company, the app operator. The target parking lots include a total of 13 locations with 605 spaces: 2 resident-priority parking lots with 121 spaces located in Byeongjeom-dong and 11 shared parking lots with 484 spaces.
Previously, the city revised ordinances for the implementation of the parking sharing platform, completed the management system construction, and finalized the work agreement. The city plans to provide more parking spaces to citizens through continuous promotion and expanded operation.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "With the establishment of this parking sharing platform, an environment where parking lots can be used more conveniently has been created," adding, "We will continue to secure parking spaces for citizens in line with advanced transportation culture and strive to make the public parking system more convenient to use."
