Hansung Cleantec, a company engaged in semiconductor process water treatment facility infrastructure business, announced on the 18th that it has won an ultra-pure water facility construction contract worth 17.7 billion KRW from Samsung E&A.
Through this contract, Hansung Cleantec plans to install ultra-pure water supply equipment necessary for semiconductor production at Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek P4 Ph3 ultra-pure water complex building.
A Hansung Cleantec official stated, “With comprehensive structural improvements and a shift to a profit-centered business model, orders from upstream industries, which worsened in the first half, are gradually improving,” adding, “We are focusing all our capabilities on securing new orders recently from SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, Lotte Biologics, etc., diversifying our business areas into semiconductors, bio, and secondary batteries, and establishing differentiated competitiveness in the industrial water treatment sector.”
He continued, “Plans for global market expansion are progressing smoothly as well,” and added, “Visible order achievements can be expected within this year.”
Meanwhile, Hansung Cleantec was selected as a target company for the Ministry of Environment’s national project for domestic ultra-pure water technology in June 2021 and is currently carrying out the project.
With purely domestic technology, the first phase of the domestication facility, designed and constructed entirely in Korea, successfully supplied ultra-pure water to SK Siltron’s semiconductor raw material process, and the second phase demonstration plant, aiming for domestication of equipment, is currently underway as part of the national project.
