Eco Delta City Phase 3 Section 2 High-Risk Accident Type Simulation Training Conducted
Initial Safety Accident Response Capability, Situation Room Mission Confirmation and Familiarity Status, etc.
Busan Metropolitan City Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yong-hak) conducted a simulated drill on the 16th at the construction site of Phase 3, Section 2 of Busan Eco Delta City to respond to a fall accident during worker movement.
This drill was conducted under the assumption that a fall accident occurred when a worker slipped and fell while moving on the scaffold structure platform installed in the stormwater box, during the assembly work of the upper slab formwork (rebar) of the stormwater box.
BMC focused on checking the initial response capabilities such as ▲rapid situation dissemination ▲emergency measures ▲urgent hospital transfer ▲site control to prevent secondary accidents, as well as confirming and reviewing the duties and familiarity of the situation control team, facility restoration team, guidance team, and emergency rescue team in case of an accident.
After the drill, the construction management officer, construction project management group, and contractor representatives jointly conducted an accident cause analysis and established recurrence prevention measures, discussing issues and improvement plans encountered during the drill as part of the evaluation process.
In April, BMC also conducted a simulated drill responding to collision and entrapment accidents caused by construction heavy equipment, a high-risk accident type at construction sites. Next year, BMC plans to expand various types of drills including fire (firefighting), emergency evacuation, and seasonal diseases to strengthen its construction accident response capabilities.
Kim Yong-hak, President of Busan Metropolitan City Corporation, stated, “We will conduct various simulated drills tailored to major accident types across all BMC business sites, including Phase 3, Section 2 of Busan Eco Delta City, to develop rapid and systematic response and coping capabilities. We will also do our best in activities to prevent safety accidents through thorough analysis of various domestic and international accident types and establishment and implementation of recurrence prevention measures.”
