Opening Game Against Suwon KT Sonicboom
Busan City announced that the home opener of the Busan KCC Egis professional basketball team will be held at 2 p.m. on the 19th at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium.

This home opener marks the first regular season game following the KCC Egis professional basketball team’s championship victory last season, once again facing off against the Suwon KT Sonicboom, their opponent in the previous championship finals.
The opening game will be attended by Lee Junseung, the Deputy Mayor of Busan, Busan KCC Egis owner and general manager Jeong Jaehoon, the owner of BNK Sum women's basketball team, over 10,000 basketball fans, and Busan citizens. This first game will serve as an important starting point for the Busan KCC Egis basketball team’s quest for the championship this season.
To celebrate the season’s first opening game and to raise the basketball spirit, various pre-celebration events will be held starting from 1 p.m. on the same day before the opening game, with many basketball fans and Busan citizens attending the venue.
The events will begin with a video introducing the Busan KCC Egis basketball team, followed by a cheerleader performance wishing for the team’s victory, and an energetic congratulatory performance by the mixed five-member a cappella group ‘Exit’.
After the congratulatory performances, the home and away team players participating in the game will be introduced, followed by an opening address by the Busan KCC Egis team owner, and the opening declaration by the president of the Korean Basketball League (KBL), signaling the start of the basketball season. Finally, the pre-event will conclude with the Deputy Mayor of Busan throwing the ceremonial first pitch.
From 2 p.m. onwards, Busan KCC Egis will play their first official game of the season against their fateful rivals, Suwon KT Sonicboom, at the main arena of Sajik Indoor Gymnasium, cheered on by Busan citizens.
The 2024-2025 KBL regular season will run from the 19th until April 8 next year, with each team playing 54 games (27 home and 27 away). The top six teams will advance to the playoffs.
Tickets for the opening game can be purchased online via the KBL integrated website or the KBL app (smart ticket entry available), or bought on-site on the day of the game.
Deputy Mayor Lee Junseung stated, “The Busan KCC Egis basketball team is a source of pride for Busan, having achieved the remarkable feat of winning a professional team championship with a Busan base for the first time in 27 years,” adding, “We expect them to continue their momentum from the championship victory and dominate the professional basketball regular season as the strongest team this year as well.”
