Samsung Electronics Ranks No.1 in Brand Value Among Major Asian Countries

Samsung Electronics' brand value was found to be the largest among global companies in major Asian countries, according to a survey.

On the 17th, Nikkei Research, a comprehensive research company of the Japanese Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) Group, announced for the first time the 'Global Brand Survey 2024,' revealing that Samsung Electronics ranked first among the top 100 brands.


The survey was conducted in eight countries: China, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.


Samsung Electronics ranked first in Vietnam, second in Thailand and India, and also placed high in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.


Second place went to German Adidas, third to American Apple, fourth to Japanese Sony, and fifth to American Nike.


Among Korean companies, four brands made it into the top 100: Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics (16th), Hyundai Motor Company (26th), and Lotte (65th).


In Japan, following Sony, Honda (6th), Toyota Motor Corporation (7th), and Panasonic (9th) entered the top 10, representing electronics and automotive companies.


Among Chinese companies, electronics manufacturer Haier ranked highest at 58th place.


Nikkei Research explained that this survey measured and indexed brand value based on 'brand strength,' which indicates brand awareness, and 'brand contribution analysis,' which reflects the influence on purchasing decisions.
