Subtitle of Yeosu World Islands Expo Confirmed... 'Your and My Island Story'

Capturing the Precious Memories and Everyday Value Islands Give

The 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo Organizing Committee (Co-Chairmen Kim Young-rok, Jeong Gi-myeong, Park Soo-kwan) announced on the 17th that the subtitle for the Islands Expo has been finalized as "Your and My Island Story."

This subtitle was chosen based on an online vote conducted among city and provincial residents, with a total of 1,664 participants from September 23 to October 6, 2024, gathering interest and expectations for the Islands Expo.

The subtitle "Your and My Island Story" (1st place, 18%) conveys the meaning of understanding each other and sharing daily life through precious memories and experiences in the special space of an island.

The second-place subtitle "I Want to Go to That Island" (16%) and the third-place "Breath, Rest, and Life" (13%) also garnered much sympathy, resulting in fierce competition for the subtitle selection.

The voting results show that city and provincial residents highly value the universal comfort and rest that islands provide.

An official from the organizing committee stated, "The finalized subtitle well reflects the positive values that the Islands Expo aims for," adding, "We will present a closer and more friendly image of the islands to visitors in various ways."

Meanwhile, the Yeosu World Islands Expo, held under the theme "Connecting Islands, Sea, and Future," will take place in Jinmo District of Dolsan-eup, Yeosu, and surrounding islands from September 5 to November 4, 2026, lasting a total of 61 days. It is expected to host 30 countries and attract over 3 million visitors.
