Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 16th that it will conduct a citizen survey for three weeks until November 5th to establish a five-year basic plan for cultural autonomy targeting Yangju citizens.
The basic plan for cultural autonomy is designed to establish mid- to long-term cultural tourism policies by reflecting the opinions of various cultural stakeholders, including related experts and citizens, in accordance with the "Yangju City Basic Ordinance on Cultural Autonomy."
This survey will cover topics such as citizens' awareness of cultural autonomy, satisfaction with the cultural environment, and demand for directions in cultural tourism policy.
In particular, based on the survey results, a cultural forum will be held in November to provide an opportunity for deeper discussions with citizens. Anyone can participate in the survey through the Yangju City Hall website.
An official from the city stated, "By involving citizens in the process of establishing cultural tourism policies, we will do our best to implement policies that citizens can directly experience and that reflect voices from the field," and added, "We ask for the active interest and participation of citizens in the survey."
