Seosan City Receives Positive Response for Non-Visit Issuance of Temporary Building Permit Certificate

Since November 2022, Seosan City in Chungnam Province has been continuously implementing a service that provides building owners with a notification certificate for temporary building construction and extension of retention period without requiring a return visit after filing the report, receiving great response.

According to Seosan City on the 16th, there are about 2,400 cases annually of reports for temporary building construction and extension of retention period. This service was introduced to alleviate the inconvenience for citizens who find it difficult to revisit city hall after reporting.

Before the implementation of this service, building owners had to revisit city hall to receive the notification certificate after reporting temporary building construction or extension and paying the registration license tax.

However, after the implementation, through cooperation between Seosan City departments, the electronic payment method for the registration license tax is provided in the official approval documents, and once payment is confirmed, the notification certificate is issued by mail or through the online building administration system.

As a result, the service has received great response from civil petitioners who live far from city hall or have difficulty visiting on weekdays.

Ms. Pyeonmo, who lives in Gyeonggi Province, said, "Through this service, I was able to pay the registration license tax via virtual account after reporting the extension of the retention period for a temporary building, and conveniently received the notification certificate by mail," adding, "I felt that the administration has changed a lot to focus on residents' convenience."

Kim Dongsik, head of the One-Stop Permit Division, stated, "In line with the implementation of the one-stop building civil service, we will continue to actively cooperate with related departments and seek ways to further minimize inconvenience for civil petitioners."
