Play, Learn, and Enjoy... Namyangju City Opens 'Donong Park Cultural and Sports Facilities'

Used by All Generations from Elementary Students to Teenagers and Seniors

Play, Learn, and Enjoy... Namyangju City Opens 'Donong Park Cultural and Sports Facilities' Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok is playing Ojam-i (a cloth pouch filled with beans or similar items, tied to form a ball shape) at the grand opening ceremony of the 'Donong Park Cultural and Sports Facilities' held successfully on the 15th.

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 16th that the 'Donong Park Cultural and Sports Facility,' which can be used by all generations from elementary students and youth to seniors, was successfully opened on the 15th.


The Donong Park Cultural and Sports Facility is a complex facility created through a donation method as part of the special development project for Donong Neighborhood Park. The building has a total of four floors with various cultural and sports facilities.


The main facilities include the 2nd floor Fun Ground Dasan, the 3rd floor Together Care Center Branch No. 12 and a table tennis hall, and the 4th floor gateball court.


The opening ceremony was held with the attendance of Mayor Joo Gwang-deok of Namyangju City, city council members, school principals in the Dasan area, and heads of local community organizations.


At the opening ceremony held at the 2nd floor Fun Ground Dasan, a vocal performance was presented by the youth ensemble Dream Orchestra and winners of the Namyangju talent competition. Additionally, the balloon-popping performance brought joy not only to children and youth but also to adults.


The tour started at Fun Ground Dasan and proceeded in order to Together Care Center Branch No. 12, the table tennis hall, and the gateball court.


Fun Ground Dasan gained popularity with a smart mirror dance practice room and a multi-sports room where visitors can experience smart activities, both prepared based on a survey of youth demand.


Together Care Center Branch No. 12 was recognized as a space where elementary students can safely enjoy learning and play after school, while the table tennis hall and gateball court became spaces dedicated to promoting citizens' health.


Mayor Joo Gwang-deok said, "The Donong Park Cultural and Sports Facility is a community hub composed of the Together Care Center and Fun Ground, which serve as a base camp for children and youth to nurture their talents and dreams after school, as well as sports facilities where all generations from youth to middle-aged and seniors can communicate and harmonize. We will spare no support to ensure this facility becomes a valuable asset to our city."
