Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 16th that it is conducting the "National Mind Investment Support Project" for citizens experiencing emotional difficulties.

Implemented since July, this project aims to prevent suicide and enable early detection of mental illnesses by providing professional psychological counseling services to citizens who usually feel depression and anxiety.

The support targets individuals recognized as needing psychological counseling at mental health welfare centers, university counseling centers, mental medical institutions, or those confirmed to have moderate or higher levels of depression in the national health screening. Eligible individuals are provided with vouchers to receive a total of eight one-on-one face-to-face psychological counseling sessions.

Previously, applicants had to visit in person to apply, which was inconvenient, but now applications can be easily made through the Bokjiro website and mobile app.

The online application process involves accessing the Bokjiro website or mobile app, logging in with a certificate, selecting the "National Mind Investment Support Project" on the welfare benefits application screen, and submitting the application form and supporting documents.

A health center official stated, "Through the online application service, more citizens can easily apply for psychological counseling," and added, "We will continue to provide various supports for the physical and mental health of citizens."
