Uijeongbu City Takes First Step in Sister City Cooperation with Sokcho City

Kim Dong-geun, Mayor of Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province, presented the Uijeongbu City mascots 'Uidoli and Rangi' dolls to Lee Byung-seon, Mayor of Sokcho City, Gangwon Province, on the 15th.

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) took the first step toward sister city cooperation with Sokcho City, Gangwon Province (Mayor Lee Byung-sun) by holding a meeting in the mayor's office at Sokcho City Hall on the 15th to have a time of communication.

According to Uijeongbu City on the 16th, this meeting was an important starting point for signing a sister city agreement between the two cities, and active discussions were held to promote close cooperation and mutual development.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun and Mayor Lee Byung-sun of Sokcho discussed exchange plans in various fields such as culture, economy, and tourism, seeking ways for the two cities to achieve mutual development through continuous cooperation.

Building on this meeting, the city plans to sign a sister city agreement with Sokcho and continue active exchanges.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “Cooperation with Sokcho City will bring great synergy to the development of both cities,” adding, “I hope the two cities will coexist and develop together in various fields in the future.”
