Kolon ENP, a specialist company in industrial engineering plastics, is launching a global offensive with sustainable specialty products.
Kolon ENP announced on the 16th that it will participate in 'FAKUMA 2024,' the largest international plastics trade fair in Europe. The exhibition keyword, derived from the new company motto, "Empowering New Possibility," embodies the vision of creating new possibilities for a sustainable future through advanced cutting-edge technology. The booth is themed around "Sustainability" and features five types of engineering plastic product lines (PA & PBT, POM, TPC-ET, KompoGTe®), including eco-friendly materials, core materials for next-generation mobility, and composite materials.
In particular, the newly launched eco-friendly brand "ECO" is prominently showcased. Kolon ENP presented a large lineup of its representative specialty polyoxymethylene (POM) eco products. These include "ECO-B," produced from bio-waste raw materials replacing petrochemical-based raw materials; "ECO-LC (Low Carbon)," made using raw materials obtained through carbon capture technology; and "ECO-E," which applies raw materials based on green hydrogen using renewable energy.
Additionally, the compound product line "ECO-R," which uses "Plant Industrial Scrap Raw Material (PIR)" recycled from products at the end of their lifecycle before consumer sales and "Post-Consumer Recycled Raw Material (PCR)" extracted and reprocessed from products used by end consumers, was also exhibited.
The "KOCETAL® M-Series," a POM product line exclusively for medical devices that successfully commercialized in the global high-value medical market this year, is receiving great response and is expected to continue generating customers.
Kolon ENP unveiled for the first time at this exhibition its digital total solution platform, CoaPorysm. CoaPorysm provides customers developing products using Kolon ENP materials with highly accurate multidimensional analysis solutions, improving design quality to achieve the desired product performance and properties. It also offers a service that predicts defects in the manufacturing process in advance.
Huh Sung, CEO of Kolon ENP, stated, "We will focus on expanding our scope by improving profitability through a sustainable eco-friendly product portfolio and high-value medical products, and by providing customer-friendly technological solutions. This exhibition is a great opportunity to widely showcase Kolon ENP's innovative technological capabilities to overseas customers."
FAKUMA 2024 is held from the 15th to the 19th of this month in Friedrichshafen, Germany, with participation from over 1,600 companies from 39 countries worldwide, exhibiting a variety of plastic raw materials, processing machinery, technologies, and solutions.
