Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 16th that it will expand and reorganize the existing neighborhood cultural festivals into integrated 'Neighborhood Cultural Festivals' based on living areas, to be held simultaneously in 10 locations on the 19th and 26th.

The '2024 Neighborhood Cultural Festival' is planned to promote the development of local cultural festivals by encouraging integration between areas that share common festival resources, thereby expanding the scale and adding specialized content and unique events.

On the 19th, seven festivals will be held across 11 neighborhoods. The 'Sinwol 6 & Sinjeong 3-dong Hanmaeum Cultural Festival' held at Gyenam 2 Neighborhood Park will be filled with various performances and experience booths, starting with the traditional Bukcheong Lion Mask Dance, followed by fusion Nanta, Zumba dance, accordion ensemble, resident singing contest, and a congratulatory performance by invited singer Geum Jandi.

The 'Sinjeong 6 & 7-dong Walkable Street Maple Festival' held at the square next to Yangcheon Cultural Center offers trot performances (invited singer Lee Jin-kwan) enjoyed alongside the autumn leaves, as well as a sister city direct market (Janggok-myeon, Chungnam) and experience booths.

The 'Omok Park Autumn Festival,' a joint event of Mok 1 and Sinjeong 2-dong centered around the Mokdong axis, will be held for the first time at Omok Park. The 'Legendary Pancake Master,' a famous festival of Mok 4-dong, will be newly held this year as the '1st Namal & Mosaemi Festival,' where residents of Mok 3 and 4-dong come together.

The '4th Yongwangsan Moonlight Street Festival' in Mok 2-dong will be filled with programs for the whole family to enjoy, including a children's art exhibition, resident participation performances, trampoline dance experience, and bazaar, all set on the local landmark 'Yongwangsan Moonlight Street.' In Sinwol 1-dong, the '2nd Goun Dal Village Love Grand Festival' will be held, and in Sinwol 7-dong, the '8th Haemaji Village Cultural Festival' will take place.

Centered around Gyeongchang Market, Sinwol 2 and 4-dong, which share the same living area, will jointly hold the 'Harmony Hanmadang Festival' at Gangseo Elementary School. Trot singer Kim Sang-bae will perform, and visitors can enjoy various corners such as Korean dance, ocarina performances, and a booth for writing family mottos. The 'Sinjeong 1-dong Village Picnic' will be held at Danji Children's Park.

District Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, “As October, the season of festivals with cool autumn breezes, approaches, we have prepared rich neighborhood festivals full of the unique characteristics and charms of each area in Yangcheon-gu. We hope families, friends, and neighbors will regain vitality in their daily lives and create happy memories through autumn outings together.”
