Samjong KPMG will hold an ‘Overseas Investment Expansion Seminar’ for domestic companies on the 28th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Hotel in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
This seminar will focus on business trends, legal requirements related to investment, and tax systems in five countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Vietnam. Experts from KPMG in each country, along with local experts from Samjong KPMG, will serve as presenters to support companies’ overseas expansion.
First, in the U.S. session, KPMG U.S. experts will compare the major tax and trade policies of candidates ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential election and share the latest trends regarding key site selection and incentive programs within the U.S. They will also provide a detailed explanation of the seven essential tax matters that Korean companies planning to enter the U.S. must know.
In the Canada session, KPMG Canada experts will introduce the KPMG Korea Client Service Group and guide attendees through the Canadian government’s inbound investment support programs. This will be followed by a session explaining the key tax considerations that must be taken into account when investing in Canada.
The subsequent United Kingdom session will review the local economic situation and trends in Korean corporate activities, while examining tax benefits when investing in the UK.
In the Germany session, investment trends in the German market will be discussed, along with legal and regulatory considerations that Korean companies face when entering Germany. In particular, new EU regulations that Korean companies need to know will be analyzed from the perspectives of disclosure (CSRD, EU Taxonomy), supply chain management (CBAM, EUDR, CSDDD), and digital aspects (AI Act, Data Act, Cybersecurity Act).
Additionally, the Vietnam session will cover an overview of investment in Vietnam and considerations for market entry. By providing comprehensive information on the economic trends and investment environments of each country, the seminar is expected to offer practical guidance to domestic companies considering overseas expansion.
After the seminar, one-on-one individual meetings with KPMG Korea desks in each country will be held exclusively for companies that have pre-registered. Attendance at the seminar and applications for individual meetings can be made through the Samjong KPMG website or via email, and participation is free of charge.
Meanwhile, since establishing the Global Korea Practice (GKP) in 2011, Samjong KPMG has been supporting the successful globalization of domestic companies expanding overseas. Currently, Korea desks operate in 30 offices across 24 countries, providing a wide range of global services.
