Coupang Pre-Orders 18 Items Commemorating Han River Author's Nobel Prize Win

Coupang announced on the 16th that it has started pre-orders for books by author Han Kang, the first Asian woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.


There are a total of 18 books by Han Kang available for pre-order. These include ▲The Boy Who Came ▲The Vegetarian ▲Human Acts ▲White ▲Greek Lessons ▲The Essential Han Kang ▲The Black Deer ▲The Tear Box ▲I Put Dinner in the Drawer ▲The Wind Blows, Go Away ▲Love in Yeosu ▲Yellow Flower Cemetery ▲Your Cold Hands ▲My Woman's Fruit ▲My Name is Sunflower ▲Han Kang: Convalescence ▲Thunder Little Fairy Lightning Little Fairy, and sets such as ▲The Vegetarian + Human Acts + The Boy Who Came set and ▲The Vegetarian + Human Acts set.

Among these, Han Kang’s representative works 'The Boy Who Came', 'The Vegetarian', and 'Human Acts' are competing for the top three sales spots, and 'White' and 'I Put Dinner in the Drawer' are also ranking high in sales, Coupang explained.


Wow members who pre-order these books can receive sequential delivery in order of purchase by the 23rd. Shipping is free even if only one book is purchased, and up to 5% Coupang Cash is accumulated per purchased book.


Earlier, right after the Nobel Prize announcement, Coupang saw a surge in searches related to Han Kang and started pre-orders for 8 titles as soon as the author’s books sold out, expanding to 18 titles this week. Originally, delivery was planned until the 1st of next month, but with early stock secured, the guaranteed delivery date was moved up by 23 days.


A Coupang representative said, "In this season of abundant harvests, the joyful news of Han Kang’s Nobel Prize in Literature has caused Coupang customers’ book purchases to explode," adding, "We plan to organize book promotions to sustain interest in books and take the lead in promoting national reading."
