On the 15th, at the National Assembly audit, Jeong In-seop, head of Hanwha Ocean's Geoje business site, who appeared as a witness, apologized after controversy arose when he took a selfie with Hani from the girl group NewJeans on his mobile phone while waiting.

Hanwha Ocean issued an apology letter in the afternoon under the name of CEO Kim Hee-chul, stating, "We deeply apologize to the public, the National Assembly, and the bereaved families for the inappropriate behavior of our executive."

Hanwha Ocean said, "The behavior of our executive was very inappropriate while attending the National Assembly audit as a witness due to the unfortunate accident at the business site," and "We sincerely accept the members' criticisms and reprimands, and we caused concern to the National Assembly and the public due to imprudent behavior during the audit, which should have been a time for reflection, apology, and consideration of measures to prevent recurrence."

Hanwha Ocean added, "We once again promise to strengthen our safety management capabilities until the business site becomes a zero-risk, accident-free workplace."

Earlier, CEO Jeong took a selfie with Hani on his mobile phone at the audit, and this was caught on camera, drawing criticism from the assembly members.
