Daejeon Jungbu Police Investigate Habitual Fraud (Dine and Dash) Suspect
A man in his 50s who habitually ordered food and failed to pay at restaurants across the country has been apprehended by the police.
The Daejeon Jungbu Police Station announced that they have booked a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of habitual fraud (dining and dashing) and are currently investigating him.
On the 8th, police received a 112 emergency call reporting that "a customer is drinking and refusing to pay" at a restaurant in Jung-gu.
After arriving at the scene, the police became suspicious when Mr. A showed no intention of paying for the food and remained relaxed. They then checked his criminal record.
The investigation revealed that Mr. A had habitually caused disturbances and dined and dashed in cities nationwide, including Daejeon, Andong, Ansan, and Seoul, receiving 73 summary orders and 62 summary court decisions for such offenses.
The police stated that they have booked Mr. A on charges of habitual fraud to prevent further offenses and to issue a strong warning, and are continuing their investigation.
