Gyeonggi Office of Education to Expand and Strengthen Neulbom Schools Next Year... Appointment of Dedicated Neulbom Office Director Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will assign a dedicated Neulbom School Manager to schools in the province next year to oversee Neulbom School operations.

The Office of Education announced on the 15th the "2025 Neulbom School Operation Plan," which includes selecting 425 Neulbom School Managers as fixed-term educational researchers with a two-year term and placing them in schools across the province next year.

The Neulbom School Manager will be the person responsible for Neulbom School operations, overseeing all tasks of the Neulbom Office and directing related personnel. They will be assigned under each Education Support Office, managing 2 to 4 schools together.

The Office of Education plans to select and assign an additional 200 Neulbom School Managers in 2026.

Considering the number of teachers selected as Neulbom School Managers, the Ministry of Education has increased the number of public elementary school teacher recruitments for next year. In Gyeonggi Province, 1,765 teachers will be selected, a 33.2% increase compared to this year.

Additionally, 1,355 Neulbom Office staff members responsible for overall administrative tasks related to Neulbom School operations will be selected and assigned at least one per school. These Neulbom Office staff will be hired as educational public officials, temporary fixed-term teachers outside the quota, short-term workers, and so on.

The Office of Education will expand the customized program, which was operated for first graders in elementary schools this year, to cover first and second graders in elementary schools next year.

Furthermore, for areas with insufficient educational infrastructure and many small schools, such as agricultural, fishing villages, and urban old downtown areas, region-specific programs linked with local universities, related institutions, and specialized organizations will be operated.

An official from the Office of Education stated, "While this year Neulbom School operations were carried out by teachers and temporary workers, next year the newly established Neulbom Office will have Neulbom School Managers and dedicated office staff assigned, and the programs will be expanded. Accordingly, we expect teachers' workload to decrease and a variety of high-quality programs to be provided."
