Improved Convenience Including Time and Cost Savings
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 15th that residents can now obtain a certificate of seal impression online. Until now, regardless of the purpose, individuals had to visit administrative offices in person to receive the certificate of seal impression.
However, following a partial amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Certificate of Seal Impression Act, it is now possible to obtain the certificate online for free through Government24. Applications for the certificate via Government24 can only be made by the individual for purposes such as career verification, license applications, and subsidy project applications.
Submission to courts or financial institutions is excluded. The issuance process is completed after electronic signature and mobile phone authentication, followed by filling out the purpose and recipient information, and notification is sent via mobile text message.
Lee Chun-ja, head of the Civil Affairs Division, stated, “With the implementation of the online certificate of seal impression service, time and costs can be saved, which is expected to enhance convenience for residents,” adding, “Certificates of personal signature verification, which have the same legal effect as the seal impression, will also be available for free issuance until 2028.”
