AI-Based Article Writing Training for Children, Seniors, and Community Honorary Reporters on the 14th-15th
Title and Body Writing, Editing, and Image Generation Tailored to Age and Skill Level
Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will conduct an "AI Utilization Article Writing Training" to support article writing in response to changes in the digital era for the "Honorary Reporters," who serve as the eyes and ears of 380,000 residents.
The "Honorary Reporters" are a citizen reporter group representing Yeongdeungpo, acting as a bridge connecting Yeongdeungpo and its residents. They are active in three newsletters?'Kkumnamu Yeongdeungpo (Children),' 'Yeongdeungpo Senior News (Senior),' and 'Yeongdeungpo News (Youth and Middle-aged)'?to deliver various news about Yeongdeungpo’s major policies, facilities, lifestyle information, and events tailored to different age groups.
The district will hold the "AI Utilization Article Writing Training" from the 14th to the 15th at the YDP Future Lifelong Learning Center located in Daerim-dong to support news content production and reporting suitable for the digital era for the "Honorary Reporters."
The training will be conducted at different levels according to the age and perspective of the "Honorary Reporters." For the "Children Honorary Reporters," who are upper-grade elementary school students, the focus will be on strengthening generative AI literacy and writing skills to help them grow into competitive talents in the digital world. Moving away from traditional lecture and textbook-centered education, participants will directly experience AI technology to develop creative problem-solving skills and application abilities.
For the senior honorary reporters aged 50 and above and the citizen honorary reporters, the training will cover practical aspects of article writing such as article structure and writing principles, image creation and insertion, style changes, spelling correction and proofreading, and searching for similar press releases.
The district explained that by utilizing generative AI, difficulties in article writing can be reduced not only in creating titles and subtitles but also in writing the main text and inserting images.
Additionally, it emphasized that fact-checking must always be done by the reporter and should not be replaced by AI.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “Through this training, I hope that the representative reporters who deliver our district’s news will be able to use AI not only in article writing but also effectively in their daily lives.” He added, “We will continuously enhance the digital utilization capabilities of our residents to drive future growth and lead the advanced era as a ‘Young Yeongdeungpo.’”
