Opening of Agasarang Center in Dongdaemun-gu

Opening Ceremony of 'Agasarang Center' Near Cheongnyangni Station on the 14th
Providing Customized Medical Expense Support and Health Management Programs

Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) held an opening ceremony on the 14th for the 'Agasarang Center,' a facility dedicated to residents preparing for childbirth and raising children.

Located near Cheongnyangni Station (10 Dapsimni-ro 1-gil, Building 102, 2nd floor), the 'Agasarang Center' spans 153 pyeong (approximately 505 square meters) and was established to provide systematic and diverse health management services from pregnancy preparation to postnatal care.

In response to the declining total fertility rate and the increase in high-risk pregnancies and infertility, Dongdaemun-gu designated a public contribution facility in the redevelopment area near Cheongnyangni Station as the center’s construction site in September 2022. After completing construction, the opening ceremony was held on the 14th with officials and residents in attendance.

The Agasarang Center is a facility designed with carbon neutrality and smart values for a healthy future generation. It features various spaces including a spacious and comfortable lounge, professional counseling and education rooms, a nursing room accessible to both parents, and a smart playroom and rest area where visitors can experience nature.

Through this center, Dongdaemun-gu plans to provide tailored medical expense support and health management programs from pregnancy preparation to childbirth and child-rearing, offering systematic health management services.

On the day of the opening ceremony, experiential programs such as making moss balls, mood lights, and eco-bags to promote carbon neutrality were held, receiving great enthusiasm from residents.

On the 10th and 11th, prior to the opening, various programs were offered as pre-events, including 'Thank You Letter Exchange' and flower crown making for expectant couples, a breastfeeding clinic, and aroma scent therapy and gua sha massage for mothers of infants and young children.

A couple who participated in the event said, "Thanks to the fun and beneficial programs prepared by the Agasarang Center, we were able to create wonderful memories with our family," and added, "We hope that various programs for expectant mothers and families will continue to be provided."

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, "We will do our best to operate the Agasarang Center so that it plays an important role in creating a city that is good for raising children," and added, "We will spare no support to make Dongdaemun-gu a happy place for both parents and children."

Going forward, Dongdaemun-gu plans to continuously develop and operate various programs through the Agasarang Center, including infertility support, healthy pregnancy and safe childbirth, and medical expense support for stable child-rearing and care.
