On the 14th, Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam, held a policy meeting of departments and bureaus at the provincial headquarters for the first time in 1 year and 1 month since the opening of the Eastern Office.

Governor Kim emphasized, "The eastern region of Jeonnam accounts for 62% of Jeonnam's total production, making it an important area for Jeonnam's economy." He added, "Let's create favorable conditions for running businesses and make comprehensive efforts for the development of the eastern region."

Governor Kim stated, "The office is well equipped with a video system, enabling remote handling of civil complaints and allowing the provincial headquarters and the Eastern Office to operate organically, which made it possible to hold policy meetings."

Kim Young-rok said, "The eastern region of Jeonnam, especially Suncheon, Yeosu, and Gwangyang, is among the top five most competitive and livable small and medium-sized cities nationwide," and urged, "Let's do our best to attract investment and expand SOC for the development of the eastern region, which is leading the future urban development not only of Jeonnam but also of South Korea."

He also emphasized the establishment of the Namhaean Comprehensive Development Agency in Jeonnam. Governor Kim said, "At the Yeonghonam provincial governors' cooperation meeting held last month in Seoul with local lawmakers, it was agreed to expedite the 'Namhaean Development Special Act,'" and added, "In connection with this, the province must take a leading and strong role to ensure that the 'Namhaean Comprehensive Development Agency,' a new type of institution integrating national and local governments, is established in Jeonnam."
