On the 14th, Gyeongbuk Province received a donation of 20 million won from Lee Sangchun, chairman of the non-profit organization Woorimilman, through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, and plans to use the funds to address low birth rates and support for war funds.
The donation ceremony was attended by Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, and officials from the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.

The donation will be used for various policies and programs implemented by Gyeongbuk Province to overcome low birth rates, and effective support will be provided through close cooperation with the local community.
Chairman Lee Sangchun said, "The low birth rate issue is a serious challenge threatening the future of our society, and I hope this donation will help Gyeongbuk Province overcome this problem."
Governor Lee Cheolwoo expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you for your interest in the low birth rate issue and for participating in this donation. We will use the funds meaningfully to address the low birth rate problem."
Meanwhile, Chairman Lee Sangchun, who hails from Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk (and is the CEO of SCL), previously served as president of the Gyeongbuk Gimcheon Residents Association in Seoul. In May 2023, he also donated 30 million won to the "Gyeongbuk Provincial Neighborly Love and Happiness Sharing Campaign," which was promoted as part of Gyeongbuk Province's livelihood support measures, continuously fulfilling his social responsibilities and contributing to regional development.
