Achievements Including Establishment of Community-Based Psychiatric Emergency Response System
The Asan City Public Health Center in Chungnam announced on the 14th that it received an institutional award for its contributions to mental health promotion at the ‘2024 Mental Health Day Commemoration Event’.
This event is organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare every year on October 10th, in recognition and encouragement of individuals or organizations that have contributed to the promotion of public mental health and the improvement of quality of life for people with mental illnesses, in celebration of World Mental Health Day.
The city was selected as an outstanding local government for its initiatives, including the establishment of a community-based mental health emergency response system, implementation of youth mental health programs, operation of the Mind Relief Bus for mobile psychological support services, and early detection and case management of people with mental illnesses.
An official from Asan City stated, “We will continue to expand mental health programs and make ongoing efforts to strengthen the local medical safety net through an organic network with related organizations in the region.”
