Gapyeong-gun "8.3% Increase Compared to Last Year's Autumn Festival... Annual Visitors Also Up 10.7%"
Seo Taewon, Gapyeong County Governor, is walking through the flower field at the '2024 Jarasum Flower Festa (Autumn)' held in the Jarasum area of Gapyeong County. The "2024 Jarasum Flower Festa (Autumn)" held for 30 days from the 14th of last month to the 13th of this month around Jarasum Island in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) has successfully concluded.
According to Gapyeong-gun on the 14th, 227,277 visitors attended this festival, generating sales revenue of 630 million KRW from agricultural products, beverages, and experience booths.
This is 7 days shorter in duration than last autumn's Jarasum Flower Festa (209,949 visitors), but the number of visitors increased by 17,328 (8.3%). In particular, the total number of visitors to the spring and autumn festivals increased by 10.7% despite the festival period being 14 days shorter than the previous year, establishing the Jarasum Flower Festa as a representative festival of Gyeonggi Province.
The Jarasum Flower Festa was selected as a 2024 Gyeonggi Tourism Festival, receiving support from Gyeonggi Province and was organized by Gapyeong-gun.
For this autumn festival, autumn gardens were created by planting zinnias, gujeolcho (Aster yomena), cosmos, pampas grass, dahlias, and a wildflower and chrysanthemum exhibition was also held. On weekends and holidays, busking performances, traditional costume and floral crown rentals, multicultural food-making experience programs, a pet playground, and agricultural product sales booths were operated to enhance the satisfaction of festival visitors.
Governor Seo Tae-won said, "I sincerely thank everyone who visited the Jarasum Flower Festa, and I am proud that we were able to successfully conclude the festival with great response," adding, "Next year, we will come back with an even richer festival full of sights and activities for everyone to enjoy."
